Minutes from the March 19, 2013 Meeting 

Meeting at the Thayne Senior Center was brought to order by President Darrel Skinner.

Sharon Johnson is past president of The P.E.O. Sisterhood.  She lives in Pinedale and discussed the principals of the P.E.O. organization.  Founded in 1869 at Wesleyan College, the focus of this organization is to support the education of women.  They provide scholarships, loans and grants to women in the US and Canada.  

Discussion:  
 - President Darrel reminded members that the District Conference is May 30-June 1 in Steamboat Springs.  Clubs are requested to send a gift basket and set up a display in the House of Friendship.  
 - Chris will try to get a digital presentation from the Dental project in Guatemala.  Dee will update our projects board.  
 - Early registration for the District Conference ends March 31.
 - Chris Allred feels we are close to a deal at the Fair Grounds for the 5th of July.
 - The Abilities Prom is schedule remains pending. 
 - The membership supported sending one or two students to the RYLA program in Montana.  It is just north of Yellowstone and closer than Estes Park.  This program is for HS Freshmen July 12-14.  The membership is encouraged to recommend current Freshmen.
 - Next week, be sure to bring your Polio Pig.

Haley Ricks was the first student of the Month to report.  She excels in distance running at SVHS and has been State Champion for 3 years.  She will attend Weber State on a running scholarship.  Haley also works in the community supporting the local food bank.  

Cody Wetzel has plans to become a military Chaplin after completing college in Missouri and seminary.  He enjoys the culinary arts program at SVHS as well as track.   He is a member of the Afton National Guard and upon graduation he will attend Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood.  

Discussion:  
 - President Darrel reminded members that the District Conference is May 30-June 1 in Steamboat Springs.  
 - Darrel attended the  Paul Harris Dinner is last week at the Wildlife Art Museum. 
 - Chris Allred returned this week from his participation in Guatemala with the Dental Project.  He will give a full report in April.
 - Norm Bos continues to work with Star Valley Ranch and Chris Allred feels we are close to a deal at the Fair Grounds for the 5th of July.
 - The Abilities Prom is scheduled for April 12, depending on the availability of the Star Valley High School Honor Society.  Darrel will contact Melanie Robinson to confirm dates.
 - The District is seeking Rotary families to host an exchange student next year.  Let Darrel know if you are interested.  A training for all Rotarians working with youth will be scheduled.
 - The membership supported sending one or two students to the RYLA program in Montana.  It is just North of Yellowstone and closer than Estes Park.  This program is for HS Freshmen July 12-14. 
 - Scholarship Awards night at SVHS is May 27.  The selection committee for Rotary Scholarship winners are Heidi Roberts, Chris Allred, Dee Roberts.  We will have two more candidates at the April Student of the Month meeting.
 - Chris made a motion to send two members to bowl in the SVMC tournament, and Norm Bos 2nd.  Motion passed.  Chris and Jessica will be our bowlers.

Discussion:  
 - President Darrel reminded members that the District Conference is May 30-June 1 in Steamboat Springs.  We need to send a gift basket to the conference. 
 - The Paul Harris Dinner is next week at the Wildlife Art Museum, $50.00 per person. 
 - Chris Allred is in Guatemala with the Dental Project. 
 - We will host one Circus due to the conflict with the Rodeo.  Norm Bos continues to locate an area at Star Valley Ranch and Chris Allred will explore the Fair Grounds for the 5th of July.
 - The Abilities Prom is scheduled for April 12, depending on the availability of the Star Valley High School Honor Society. 
 - On May 7 we will be out of the Senior Center due to a special election.  It was suggested we meet at Jackson.  Dee has heard from 7 members who prefer the Supper Club as a meeting. We will continue to hear from other members.
 - Our guest speakers for Tuesday, March 12,  will be our Students of the Month. Be sure to attend.
 - Members who did not have foot surgery and did not attend the March 5 meeting need to bring $2.00 for the Fine Box.  We missed you, Heidi, and hope you are healing well.

Discussion:  
 - Norm Bos, while locating a suitable location for the July 5 Circus, found the Star Valley Ranch area was not suitable.  He is researching other locations.  
 - Darrel posed the question; Is AHA still interested in working with us on the Oktoberfest.  Heidi will contact the organization for their input.  
 - There was no further follow up on organizing the 3 food banks for a dinner dance this summer.
 - Darrel reported on projects and requests from the District Leadership Institute he attended last weekend in Jackson.  The Jackson Club is looking for other clubs to join in a water project in Honduras.  Do we have $1000 to contribute?  We will review the financial report in two weeks to make a decision.  
 - This year, the District Conference Chair has request clubs to send or bring gift baskets as we did last year.  Although our members all contribute $100 each year to the Foundation through our quarterly dues, individuals may contribute independently on the RI web site.  

President Darrel shared ideas with the club concerning the following items: 
 - Scholarships from the club to help a current member with dues. 
 - Permitting current members to bring in a spouse as a member with reduced dues, paying only RI and District Dues.
 - The discussion that followed was favorable but due to low attendance, no motions were put forth at this time.  It will be discussed at a future meeting.
 - Dee Roberts reminded the club that we are celebrating our 20th year as the Rotary Club of Star Valley.  How to recognize this is to be determined.  

Current fund raising efforts for the Star Valley Women’s Breast Care fund is as follows:  
 - $500 each from 1st Bank, Bank of Star Valley, Wells Fargo.
 - $500 from the Rotary Club of Star Valley
 - $1000 from Drs. Kirk and Hageman
 - Waiting to hear from the Silver Star Community of Caring grant.

On May 7 we will be out of the Senior Center due to a special election.  It was suggested we meet at Jackson.  Dee has heard from 7 members who prefer the Supper Club as a meeting. We will continue to hear from other members. 

Our guest speaker for Tuesday, March 5 is Terry Limon, Director of Radiology at the Star Valley Medical Center.  He has been instrumental in supporting our new Mammography project.  Be sure to attend.

Discussion:  
 - President Darrel indicated that the Circus would like to have us sponsor and sell tickets.  They will be here Friday, July 5th.  The search is on for a suitable location.  The Circus will be notified that we will host them.
 - President Darrel read an email from Ashley Brown indicating her resignation from the club.  She continues to be interested in forming a Rotary Club in Pinedale.  There was discussion concerning what it requires to sponsor a new club.  A club Bell and Banner are provided the new club by the sponsoring club.  There were questions about what other types of support we would need to provide.  Darrel will contact our Assistant Governor to get specifics.
 - President Darrel has registered for the District Leadership Academy in Jackson.  He encouraged others to join him.  It is intense 2 day training.
 - The Jackson Supper Club is sponsoring a Paul Harris Fellow evening to recognize new and existing Paul Harris Fellows.  It is $50 per person and will be held in the Art Museum in Jackson.
 - Dee Roberts gave a report on the upcoming Mother/Daughter Luncheon.  It will be on Saturday, May 18 in the Greys River Room at the Star Valley Medical Center.  There will be a Fashion Show, SVHS Girls choir, and lunch.  Tickets will be $7.00 which will cover the cost of the meal.  Funds raised will be from community sponsors to provide mammograms for women who cannot afford them.
 - Sergeant at Arms, Norm Mogul will fine members who did not attend this meeting and bring their Polio Pig $25.00.  All will be forgiven if absent members bring their Polio Pig to the next meeting, February 5.

Vote:  Norm Mogul moved and Dee Roberts seconded we sponsor a new club in Pinedale.  Motion Passed
Norm Mogul moved and Dee Roberts seconded each member sell or buy 10 Circus tickets.  Motion Passed.

Speakers: Jud Redden, Executive Director, Lincoln-Uinta Revolving Loan Fund

Mr. Redden is a retired financial manager who returned to manage his father’s ranch.  The Revolving Loan Fund offers loans to small businesses needing to expand with a small infusion of funds.  The organization focuses on increasing or maintaining jobs and has funded over $1,000,000 loans in each county supporting over 390 jobs.  Loans are under $100,000 with terms 1 to 2% lower than banks. Terms are generally 3 to 5 years but could be extended to meet needs.  Locally, the organization has provided loans to the Bowling
Alley, a body shop and a sheep shearing group.

Discussion: 
 - President Darrel indicated that the cost of the Leadership Training Seminar offered in Jackson Feb. 8-9 will cost $80 per attendee, paid by the club.  Those interested need to complete the application on line. 
 - The district is looking for Rotarians to participate in a trip to Russia.  Email Darrel if you are interested. 
 - Chris Allred indicated that there may be a need for equipment for the Guatemala dental trip.  More information to come.

Motion/Vote:  Dee Roberts proposed Star Valley Rotary sponsor a Mother/Daughter Luncheon in May to raise funds for Valley women unable to pay for Mammograms.  Norm Mogul so moved, John Krabbenhoft seconded.  Motion Passed.

Speakers:  Student of the Month

Rebecca Ryan participates in cross country, and is learning to play the trumpet.  She plans to attend Notre Dame University in the fall with an NROTC Scholarship.  She is interested in majoring in aeronautical engineering or medicine.  She will complete her CAN certificate in May and will also be working at the Hospital in Jackson.  Rebecca is a member of the National Honor Society and has a GPA of 3.9.  Last summer she worked for Aviat and was given free on line piloting lessons by the company.  She also was able to fly with one of the pilots at Aviat.  Her interest in airplanes began early and stems from her father’s work as a crop duster.

Jacob Shumway has lived on a dairy farm all his life and he says he knows how to work.  Concussions sidelined him from sports last year but he was able to participate with the wrestling team this year.  He enjoys art, choir, and theater.  He was the Lead in the latest H.S production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  After his Mission, he plans to attend BYUI with a major in music or art.  He has a GPA of 3.8.

Discussion: 
 - President Darrel encouraged members to attend the Leadership Training Seminar offered in Jackson Feb. 8-9.  Jaxon, Darrel and possibly Pat indicated they will go. 
 - There is a need to improve the food drive barrel at the Afton Broulims store. 
 - Norm Mogul’s last meeting before going to Israel is Jan 29. 
 - Changing the meeting date to Thursday at the Senior Center was explored.  Several members would not be able to meet on that date and the Card group the meets in the Town Hall meeting room does not want to change their date.  The meeting date for The Rotary Club of Star Valley will not change at this time.

Motion/Vote :  Dee Roberts moved, Chris Allred seconded funds of $40 per attendee by paid by the club.  Motion passed

AG Ken Small encouraged members to participate in the Rotary Leadership Institute February 8 and 9 in Jackson.  $40 includes lunch and registration.  Home hospitality in Rotarian’s homes will be offered for out of town participants.  Governor Mike Forney included the Rotary Club of Star Valley in the October District News Letter.  DG Ken presented President Darrel with a check for $42.84 as part of a match from a previous donation by our club. 

Angela Airken thanked our club for our sponsorship of a scholarship this year and for next year’s participation.  She review the Art Council calendar for 2013
Alysia Moyer thanked the club for helping her fund her music workshop  participation in South Carolina last summer.  She felt it help her understand how much more there is to her piano development.    She honored us with the piano presentation she prepared while at the music workshop.

Jill Larson presented a check to Donna Zumbrum of the Thayne Food Bank.

Discussion:
President Darrel said he is still waiting to hear from some members regarding a meeting day change.  Also, he mentioned that there is a picture of our latest Students of the Month on the cover of The View newspaper.

Speaker:  Mason Johnson & Lindsey Christiansen; Students of the Month

Mason Johnson enjoys being around other students.  He is Senior Class Vice President and enjoys leadership roles.  He has completed over 40 college credits during his last two years with a 3.7 gpa.  He enjoys travel and he joined a humanitarian group to Mexico.  After Graduation, Mason will serve as an intern in Cheyenne with Marty Halverson.  He plans to major in Political Science or Economics with a MBA to follow.  After a 2 year Mission, he plans to attend Stanford, Yale or Harvard.

Linsey Christiansen participates in dance, soccer, and a service club.  She has a 4.0 gpa.  In addition, she is a member of the Blue Grass Band and plays violin.  She plans to attend Weber  State to major in Radiology. 

Discussion:
 - President Darrel suggested our program chairs contact Josh Henderson for a follow up program about the New York City Marathon.  
 - The announcement of our 2013-2014 Club President was made.  Jill Larson will lead our club with Chris Allred continuing on as Treasurer.  
 - Next Tuesday is our last meeting in December, so please bring your Polio Pigs full of change.  Pink or Blue, your donation is true.
 - Secretary Dee indicated our attendance has been very low.  President Darrel will send the Internet Club email address to members so they can make up.
 - A change of meeting day was discussed and President Darrel will send out an email survey to get membership opinion.
 - Motion/Vote:  It was moved by Norm Mogul that we collect Polio Purple/Pink Pig money every last meeting of the month.  Second by Norm Bos.  Approved.

Minutes from the November 27, 2012 Meeting

PDG Gerry Gave a presentation on the Rotary Foundation, past and future.  All future club requests for grant funding will go to the District for approval and then sent to Rotary International for funding.  Projects must be sustainable after rotary funding over and meet the six defined goals; peace and conflict resolution, education, clean water, children’s health, economic development.

He also discussed the need for continuing club and worldwide participation in the Polio Plus fund raising efforts.  Three countries remain with polio, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.  There was only 203 cases report this year so far.   He also suggested we continue with our Purple Pig project on a more consistent basis.
Discussion:

Our next meeting is the Festivus Shindig at Hubs, December 3.  Members were reminded to bring their Angel Tree gifts wrapped and tagged with the number 5 for girls or number 6 for boys.  It was also agreed to have club members invite those community members who have been generous to Rotary’s fund raisers and projects.  Name tags will be provided at the party. 

In January the club will pursue the rifle Randy Thompson promised us as an auction item for our next Oktoberfest.
Vote:  It was moved by Norm Mogul that we collect Polio Purple/Pink Pig money every last meeting of the month.  Second by Norm Bos.  Approved.

Discussion:  
 - President Darrel reported about the Rotary Meeting he attended while on business in British Columbia. 
 - The Holiday Party for our club was confirmed by Norm Bos.  It will be at Hubs on December 3.  
 - LuAnn and Heidi will bring Angel Tree requests to our meeting November 27.  Members will select items to purchase and bring them gift wrapped to the December 3 Holiday Party.
 - Nine cases of dictionaries have been delivered for our distribution to 3rd grade classrooms.  Some dictionaries will be distributed to Home School Students. 
 - The Abilities Prom will be in April and President Darrel will check to see if the new Thayne Center would be a larger and better facility for this event in the future. 
 - Rotarian, Marta Heap, has requested the club help support a medical student from Mongolia.  After discussion, the club membership felt it would be more effective to offer support to a specific project by the student after completion of her training.
 - For an international project, President Darrel suggested that Chris Allred speak to Dr. Mark Johnson concerning his dental project in Central America. 
 - Dee suggested, as a new fund raiser, we offer sports packages (fishing, rafting, etc.) and advertise in the Rotarian. 
 - There will be no meeting Tuesday, November 6 since our meeting location is a polling place.

Speaker:  Shar Perry,  Wyoming State 4-H Office 
Ms. Perry discussed the fundamentals of 4-H and the variety of programs that are offered.  In addition to animal care, the local after school programs are supported by 4-H activites.  Volunteers are always needed especially in the area of woodworking.  Norm Bos offered to volunteer in this area.  One of the facets for young participants is to develop a business plan to work with their projects.  Chris Allred has been a participant and judge with the final plans.  Shar thanked everyone for the many books that were donated for the 4-H Halloween party.  Shar Perry may be reached at the Afton Civic Center.

Discussion:  
 - It was suggested that we consider plans for this year’s Christmas Party.  Norm Bos offered to organize and reserve December 3 at Hubs, last year’s party location.   It was also suggested that we support a local charity at this event.  It was moved by Norm Bos and Seconded by Heidi Roberts that we participate in the Angel Tree project.  The membership passed this motion.  A list of requested items will be brought to the November 27 meeting and members will select those requests to be purchased.  All items will be delivered gift wrapped to the Christmas Party on December 3 for distribution. 
 - It was also suggested that we rotate our children’s book donations to the Afton and Alpine Libraries.  Dee Roberts so moved and it was seconded by Heidi Roberts and passed by the membership. 
 - A question about the number of name plates for the 3rd grade dictionaries was asked.  A count will be taken and additional name plates will be ordered as needed.

Lexie Cole shared that she would like to become a teacher in grades K-5. She plans to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall.  She is on honor roll and participates in sports.
Cole Battleson is a student athlete with a GPA of 3.8.  He moved with his family from Idaho Falls at 5th grade.  He felt it was a difficult change.  He has taken several college classes including Spanish and Business.  In sports he was selected All Conference and All State.  He is interested in leadership roles.  Upon graduation this spring he will go on a mission of undetermined location.  He would like to attend either BYU or Utah State.  He is interested in Accounting, Coaching and Physical Therapy as possible majors.
Both students were encouraged to apply for one of the scholarships Rotary offers to graduating seniors.  

Discussion:   
 - Allen Crooks from AHA(Animal Humane Association) was present to receive a $3000 check from the proceeds of the Oktoberfest in September.  Rotary also shares in this project and received $3000.  There remain sufficient funds for start up next fall for the Oktoberfest.
 - Sergeant at Arms, Norman Mogul, will impose a fine of $25 to anyone not voting in the upcoming election on November 6.
 - Secretary, Dee Roberts, asked about the meeting on November 6.  Our meeting room is a polling place for elections.  It was unanimously agreed the club would be dark that day.  
 - A question was asked about November 27, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  We are traditionally dark on that date and it was also unanimously agreed the club will be dark on that date.

Speaker:  Holly Parker, Director of the Thayne Library: 
The Thayne Branch Library was established in 2006.  They will move into the new Community Center in the next few months.  It will provide more room for staff and books.  The Library programs offered are; Children literacy: Story time for toddlers and preschool age, work with children from the Child Development Center, Born to Read Books that are given to parents of new born babies, Raising Readers which is a program with local physicians, Imagination Library that provides a book a month for underprivileged children ages 1 through 5.  Ms. Parker would like to start a program of adult literacy, primarily for English as a Second Language adults.  A small selection of E books is now available for some e readers.  They can be checked out on line or at the library for up to 3 weeks.

Discussion:   
 - Dictionaries have been ordered to deliver to all 3rd grade students in the Valley in October.
 - There was some discussion regarding a misunderstanding by the parents of the Arts Council student scholarship winner.  It was decided to continue to support the student with the money promised.

Speaker:  Josh Henderson, representing Achilles International: 
On November 4, Josh will run in the New York City Marathon for team Achilles.
This is a non-profit organization that provides athletes with disabilities with a community of support.  There are specialized program for children and war veterans.  Opportunities are provided both young children and wounded war veterans to participate in runny programs and marathons.  His travel to New York is at his expense.  He has pledged a $3000 donation to Achilles International as well as his participation in the New York City Marathon.  He is asking Rotary for some funds towards his donation goal.

Discussion:   
 - There was a brief discussion regarding Star Valley Rotary’s contribution to the Achilles International project.  A motion was made by Norman Mogul that we contribute to this project which was seconded by Marta Heap and passed.  Norman Mogul moved that the club contribute $500.  The motion was seconded by Dee Roberts and passed.  In addition, members were encouraged to make an individual contribution. 
 - Discussion followed with no final accounting of the Oktoberfest.  All receipts and bills will be completed by the next meeting. 
 - Members with Polio Plus Purple Pigs should bring them to the next meeting.  All others, bring your spare change to add to the clubs Polio Plus International giving.
 - Members were encouraged to bring all children’s books to Chris Allred.  This is for the 4H Halloween give away at the end of the October.
 - Dictionaries will be ordered and a delivery dates set for October.
 - Ashley Brown is forming a Facebook page for the club.  Pictures of Rotary events should be emailed to ABrown@SilverStar.net.
 - Food bank barrels will be placed in the new Broulims markets. 
 - Holly Parker, the Thayne Librarian, will be our speaker next week.

Speaker:  Troy Clawson, Star Valley Medical Center Director of Emergency Services: 
 - His opening emphasis that he is encouraging the three entities, Thayne EMT, Alpine EMT and Afton EMT teams to work together to streamline services and materials.  
 - Training for an EMT costs $26,000 over a 2 year period with regular updating and trainings.  
 - The Alpine EMTs are holding a fundraiser this coming weekend in Alpine.  
 - There are currently 23 EMTs spread throughout the valley working with the 3 entities.  
 - He reminded the audience that these are volunteers.
 - When asked what were the leading emergencies in the Valley he said car accidents were the #1 trauma cases with medical cardiac being 2nd.  
 - He emphasized the importance of receiving medical care within the 1st hour of trauma or illness for the best result.
 - A representative from the State Education Committee distributed a survey about education in Wyoming for members to complete.

Discussion:   
 - There will be a wrap-up of the complete finances from the Oktoberfest in the next week or two.  Funds continue to come in as well as receipts for ice, food, etc.  
 - Next week’s meeting will be the annual visit from our District Governor, Mike Forney.  There are plans for him to visit the Aviat Plant before of after the meeting.  
 - The Club Board will meet with Governor at 11:00am before the regular meeting.  Please make an extra effort to join us.  He is a very inspirational speaker and we plan on installing two new members.  It will be an exceptional day.
 - The following meeting on September 18th is Highway Cleanup.  We will not meet at the Thayne Senior Center for lunch, we will meet at the Rest Area at 5:00pm to pick up the mile stretch between the Bedford Road south to the first bridge.  Wear your Orange “Rotary at Work” shirt.  There will be Orange vests for those volunteer without that fabulous shirt.  Bring a friend and/or family.  We will grill hot dogs afterwards.

 - Program for September 4 will be Troy, Director of EMTs at the Star Valley Medical Center.  
 - We will have a new potential member guest next week who is moving into our area.

 - Members were encouraged to round up more Auction and Raffle items for the Oktoberfest.  Norman Mogul offered a donation of $250 to become a sponsor of the Oktoberfest. 
 - Highway clean up for the fall is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18.  Dee Roberts will arrange for cones and bags from the Highway Department.
 - District Governor, Mike Forney, will visit our club on September 11.   He will meet with the Board before the regular meeting.
 - A discussion regarding the joint meetings with the Chamber included the following comments: Rotary gets little or no recognition at these meetings, they meet on Wednesday rather on our regular meeting date of Tuesday, those Rotarians who are Chamber members can attend those meetings.
Vote: It was moved by Jackie Kastner that we discontinue our joint meetings with the Chamber of Commerce.  It was seconded by Heidi Roberts.  Motion Passed.
 - A new Directory is in progress.

Discussion:  
 - CEO Button presented a program regarding his expectations and challenges for change.  Staffing goal is to be “Employer of Choice” and for the community to build relationships with the Hospital.  There is continued interest in gaining additional Helmsley Family Foundation Grants to expand resourses of the hospital.  Plans to enlarge the Surgery Center have been changed to enlarge the Emergency Room capacity and privacy. 
 - Gerry Roberts reviewed the  function of the Foundation and ways the community could contribute to it’s growth.  He also presented the next project for the foundation which is a fetal heart monitor that can display at various stations in the hospital.

The next Rotary Meeting will be at the Senior Center on Tuesday, August, 28.  
A Board meeting will precede the regular meeting at 11:00am.

Discussions:  

 - Director of the Senior Center received a $300.00 in support of the Senior Center.  He stated that State, Federal and County contributions have been severely due to economic shortfalls.  Representatives from the Afton Senior Center and the Pony Club were unable to attend.  They were to also receive checks for $300.00.

 - Oktoberfest date has been changed from August 31 to September 1.  Ten tickets were distributed to members present.   This is the first year a child’s ticket of $5.00 has been issued.  All members were reminded that they need to provide a $50.00 + item for the Silent Auction.  The following business were listed as previous donors:  Flying Saddle, Custom Image, Valley Market.  State Farm [will provide a gun for a silent or live auction item], 1st Bank, Bank of Star Valley, Dr. Tallerico, Dr. Johnson, Afton PT.   SilverStar may take tickets to sell.  Dee will check on RI Event Insurance.  Heidi, Marta and Dee will work on liquor permit to include wine and beer sales.  

 - The Chili Cook-off final report will be provided at next week’s meeting.  It was suggested that next year we have a condiment table rather than distributing condiments at every table.  There was discussion about how to attach name and date of each winner to the traveling trophy.   

 - Current balances in Savings $15,411.17 and Checking $440.00.  President Darrel stated that we have $8000.00 in obligations to fund various projects this year.  Those projects include; Scholarships, Dictionaries, Presenter books, Polio Plus, various local groups, RYLA, Rotary Foundation.  

 - It was moved by LuAnn Hyde that the savings should not exceed $16,000 with a second from Jill Larson.  Passed by membership.

- Next week’s presenter is from the Fair Board.  It is Fair Week and may be held at the Afton Civic Center.  An email will be sent to all members confirming the location of the July 31 meeting.

 - New Treasurer is Chris Allred.

 - Next week the meeting will be held with the Chamber at the Afton Civic Center.  The speaker is Rod Jensen from Bank of Star Valley regarding economic outlook. 

 - Chili Cookoff is July 20.   5-7pm.  Supplies need to be ordered: table cloths, trays, 2oz. cups, hot dogs, buns, condiments, napkins, lemonade, chips.  Darrel will check with Chris to see what he has from last year.  Jaxon can order trays from his business.  Considered ordering from Sysco (Billie Merritt).  

 - Marta Heap discussed the Mongolian Project.  Until Local Medical Staff can be located to participate, the project is on hold.  She is going to Peru and Dee Roberts is checking on contacts in Lima that might have a Rotary project we could share.  

 - Mark Johnson has a Dental project in Central America that could be an alternative international project.

 - Jaxon Wilkes and Jackie Kastner agreed to serve a Program Co-Chairs.  

A motion was made by Dee Roberts that we give the Pony Club $200 for their help in the High Way Cleanup.  Second and passed unanimously.
